Rajma Masala | Red Kidney Bean Curry
Ingredients
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 cloves
- 1 inch cinnamon stick
- 1 1/2 cup of Red kidney bean
- 3 onions
- 2 tbsp of tomato paste
- 1 tbsp of chilli powder
- /2 tbsp of cumin powder
- 2 tbsp of coriander powder
- 1/2 tbsp of garam masala
- 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
- 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste
- Oil
- Salt to taste
- Soak the Red kidney bean overnight. Drain the water and wash with running water.
- Pressure cook the kidney bean with enough amount of water for 4 whistle.
- Chop the onions and puree it. Set aside.
- Heat oil in the pan. Add bay leaves, cloves and cinnamon stick.
- Add onion puree and saute till the raw smell goes away.
- Add ginger garlic paste saute for sometime.
- Add chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, turmeric powder and salt. Mix altogether.
- Now, add tomato paste and little water. Stir well, close the lid and cook in the medium flame for 15 minutes.
- Add the cooked kidney beans, cook for another 5 minutes in low flame.
- Serve hot with Jerra Rice or Ghee Rice.
